Syllabus & Schedule
Week 1: February 19, 2023 - Introduction to Data with real-life examples
The instructor will dig deep into data and how multinational companies use the data. At the end of the class, every participant will have an in-depth knowledge of data, how important is their privacy, and the future of data and their privacy. This is important before you can learn how to analyze data.
Week 2: February 26, 2023 - Excel Operations, Pivot Table & VLOOKUP
In this class, participants will learn more about Excel. The instructor will not only take the class through excel functions but also use data to teach different functions used for analyzing data. It is important to understand most layman's techniques to analyze data before we start dealing with live data.
Week 3: March 5, 2023 - Data Scraping & Machine Learning
Once you understand what data is and the techniques to analyze it, you will be given the opportunity to start off with live data collection. Using the Monkey Learn application, you will be taught to collect or scrape data from different websites.
Week 4: March 12, 2023 - Data Visualization with Tableau
Now that the participants have learnt to read, collect and analyze data in excel, the instructor would further move into the depths of analyzing it using a very common and easy-to-use tool, Tableau. The live data that was collected in the last class with the help of Monkey Learn will be used.
Week 5: March 19, 2023 - Data Visualization & Prediction with R
Moving ahead on the path of visualization, you will learn how to visualize and predict data using R studio. No coding is required for this class. You will be given access to Statsbuddy - a website that generates codes for R studio and has much more options to deal with data.
Week 6: March 26, 2023 - Strategizing with Data & Genetic Algorithms
In this week you will learn how to strategize data in a way thar it benefits you the most. Participants will learn how to analyze and predict data in a way they can have the most benefit in business. Furthermore, there would be detailed understanding of Genetic Algorithims in data, for the participants.
Week 7: April 2, 2023 - Word Cloud & Workshop Summary
In the second to last week, you will learn about word cloud. After which, any questions related to any topic over the tenure of the course will be taken up. Feel free to ask any questions related to data analytics.
Week 8: April 9, 2023 - Word Cloud & Workshop Summary
The instructor will play a game with all the participants. The game will be on your personal computers. The game will deal with understanding data analytics by using a real life business example. It would be a competitive game and the one who gets the highest profit by using their skills learnt over the tenure of the workshop wins $10.
